Limited Parts Warranty:

This warranty is a parts exchange warranty. If we do not have the part in stock to replace the defective part, Elgin Super Auto Parts reserves the right to choose between: (a) repairing the defective part, (b) locating a replacement part, or (c) providing a refund for the original purchase price.

This warranty does not include coverage for the cost of any labor or any other expense incurred by the purchaser (optional installation warranty available for an extra cost). These costs include, but are not limited to towing charges, loss of time, lost use of vehicle, inconvenience, lodging, oil, filters, anti-freeze, telephone charges, car or truck rental, gaskets, or seals.

Unless otherwise specified in writing, our quality recycled parts are warranted for a period of no longer than 90 days from the date of purchase against failure. No labor warranty is covered. 

Conditions that Void Warranty:

• Installation of part(s) in any non-stock application (off-road racing, conversion, fleet or commercial application, etc.
• Dismantling of part(s) for any reason.
• Improper installation or handling.
• Warranty only applies to the purchaser shown on this invoice.

Standard Limited Warranty:

Warrantor whose name and address appears above warrants all engines, transmissions, rear-end assemblies and other mechanical parts for 90 days from date of purchase. In event of defect, promptly notify warrantor. Warrantor will within a reasonable time replace the warranted part. 

Important:

The obligations of the warrantor are limited to replacement only as provided herein. Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular use are limited to the same duration as the limited written warranty provided herein. Warrantor shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages included but not limited to installation, removal or use of this merchandise.

Other Conditions

Engines:

All engines are stamped and have a heat tab installed which has a center that will melt if the temperature exceeds 255 to 260 Fahrenheit. If this heat tab is melted the warranty is void. If your original engine failed because overheating, Elgin Super Auto Parts strongly recommends that you remedy what caused it to fail, so that future engines will not be ruined.

We recommend that you do the following before installing the motor:

1. Drain & replace engine oils to manufacturers suggested levels
2. Replace oil filter
3. Replace valve cover gaskets
4. Replace oil pan gasket & rear main seal
5. Inspect and replace, if needed, timing gears, chains or belts and gaskets
6. Replace thermostat & gasket
7. Flush cooling system and refill with antifreeze to appropriate level
8. Install new spark plugs, belts, and hoses

TRANSMISSION:

On manual transmissions we do not warranty broken gears. The warranty covers the bearings and synchronizers.

Some automatic cars are equipped with a transmission computer. If your car has one you should have it checked to verify that it is your transmission that is bad and not the computer.
The following pre-installation maintenance must be performed to validate this warranty:

1. Properly align torque converter. If the torque converter is not aligned properly it will damage the transmission immediately and void this warranty.
2. Flush transmission cooling lines & transmission cooler (usually integrated with radiator) to get metal shavings from pervious bad transmission out of system.
3. Check the transmission cooling lines for kinks or leaks to insure the replacement transmission receives proper cooling lubrication.
4. Adjust throttle position sensor cable (shift kick-down cable) correctly. This is very important. If this is not done properly the transmission will fail very quickly.
5. Replace torque converter seal, driveshaft seal, and/or axle seals.
6. Install new transmission filter kit and fluid.

If this list of procedures is not done, the warranty will be void. Please call us if you have any questions.

After installation, if the transmission does not work properly, please call us immediately so that we can help solve the problem before the transmission is ruined.

This is the only warranty offered by the seller.

No returns on electrical items.
